Bromsgrove South near Birmingham, have recently installed a brand new 3G Artificial Turf sports pitch in place of their old grass. The new astroturf installation means they can make more use of the football pitch, no matter how bad the weather has been. Previously, the pitch could only be used sparingly during the wetter months due to the condition of the pitch.
Bromsgrove South High School can now hire out the facilities at any time without the fear of destroying the surface or having to reseed, maintain or feed the pitch.
The new 3G astroturf has been supported by The Football Foundation (Premier League & FA Funding Scheme), Sport England (Inspired Facilities), Bromsgrove District Council and the Trustees of South Bromsgrove High Academy Trust.
The new facilties include:
- A new Fieldturf Prestige XM6 3G Astroturf is an outstanding football surface, compliant to FIFA 1* and 2* Standards.
- State of the art floodlight system
- Spectator areas including Disability Access
- Ancillary Changing Rooms and Community Room (available to hire separately)
- Ample off road car parking
Football at South
The 3G Astroturf will be made available for Community Use from 6-10pm every weekday. It will also be open to Community Use at weekends from 9am-10pm initially. The format of the pitch will be the following, and will available to hire:
4 x 5-a-side pitches (Red)
2 x 7-a-sdie pitches (Yellow)
2 x 9-a-side pitches (Blue)
1 x Full size 11-a-side pitch (White)
Due to completion of the project being in the close season, there will be a host of introductory events for local schools, junior clubs, adult clubs as well as the wider community. We envisage that lettings and bookings for the 2016-17 football season to be confirmed early Summer 2016.
